review of the repair manual for 1997-1999 dakotas
The book was perfect for me. It explains mainly how to serveice your vehicle, and that was what I was looking for. If you are wanting to get into details of the 97-99 Dodge Dakotas, you may want to get the Chrysler book instead

Great manual
Don't go to the shop without this manual.

Great for the novice!
This book is great for the first time rebuilder. It's filledwith detailed pictures and factory specifications. Doesn't get intohow to tune the engine or modify it. If you are not a novice I recommend something different.

great reference, good part numbers, lots of pictures
Definiatly a good book for the back yard mechanic. Tons of information to get the novice thru his first rebuild. Buy the book and save yourself the headaches. worth the price hands down.

Making Dolls' House Interiors: Decor and Furnishings in 1/12 Scale

Authors: Carol Lodder, Nigel Lodder, and Venus A. Dodge

Has some wonderful ideas
This book is chock full of great ideas and includes some more modern furniture..something that many miniature books are lacking. The directions are a bit difficult to follow and have to be read very carefully. Measurements are sometimes not correctly stated. If your unsure..make a paper pattern first. Final results will be much better.

Everything you need to know to decorate your dollhouse!
Among "How-To" books, this is a standout. Includes specifics on how to build everything from victorian parlor furniture to a palm-shaded island porch. Instructions are clear, patterns are already in 12-inch scale. Beautifully illustrated. A must for any miniaturist!

Adaptive Linear Regression

new methods for doing robust regression
In introductory statistics courses students are taught linear regression. Basic linear regression in an elementary course is simply least squares estimation of the regression line. Least squares has optimal properties when the conditional distribution of the variable of interest has a normal distribution, conditional on the predictor variables. However, when the distribution is non-normal, the least squares estimates can sometimes have very undesirable properties. It is well-known that least squares estimates are very sensitive to individual outliers and leverage points. Consequently any regression analysis requires diagnostic checking of the model using various diagnostic statistics. Although students are often taught about the diagnostics used to check the modeling assumptions, most introductory texts do not go into the modeling alternatives to least squares. There are now many alternatives in the literature that are robust to departures from the normal distribution and/or multicollinearity. These include least absolute deviations, ridge regression, M, L,S and GM regression. The authors review least squares and these other methods in Chapter 2. The next four chapters of the book discusses four new alternative methods that the author's refer to as adaptive methods. These methods involve combining two of the estimation procedures discussed in Chapter two. The various methods involve taking convex combinations of two of these estimates. Adaptive methods allow the weights in these convex combinations to be determined from the data. Chapters 3 - 6 deal with adaptive weights for various pairs of estimates. Chapter 7 deals with adaptive trimmed estimates. Chapter 8 covers adaptive ways for combining hypothesis testing methods. Chapter 9 deals with computational aspects and software devised for these methods. Chapter 10 provides some asymptotic properties of estimators discussed in earlier chapters particularly the studentized M-estimators of Chapter 2. The authors provide many concrete examples and compare the various methods.

This is a nice little monograph for anyone interested in regression analysis methods that are practical and advance the theory of regression. This should interest both the applied statistician and the statistical researcher.

IF you are duplexing...BUY THIS BOOK.
GREAT.... I am looking to buy and remodel a house into a duplex. BINGO. Hit the mark. Covered all the major topics, some very obvious and some not so. Will keep the book handy for review as a remodel. I was surprised that there were so many form examples. This could be a definite help to anyone doing this.

Chiltons repair manual
This book is not half bad when it comes to car repair for my dodge colt. It goes into detail on how to fix many problems you could run into with your car. It has plenty of pictures to help you with what you are doing. If you have to do some work on your vehicle, I suggest you get a chiltons manual.

labor rates
I've used a lot of manuals over the past 35 years. to be totally ownest all i wanted to do is look up a few spec's before i got to the shop to save a little time, and now i'm commentting on a book that i have yet to read. Typing from experiance. Motors, Mitchel, and chilton are all about dead even with there information. But i think that as far as the labor guide goes chilton is the prefrence for me personaly. But there is room for improvement. This is my guesstament. they get there times from cars that are clean and not driven by a varitey of people. So there is not other related problems that come with the abuse and neglect that the average moreone puts them through. Howed i do ? thank you and have a nice and safe drive. Kerry Stafford ASE.
